My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 30 – Happy awesome birthday to my Dad!

Technically his birthday is not today but today is the day we celebrated it!  We went to Maggiano’s for lunch.  I was able to take lots of pics today and here are some of my favorites….

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 29 – Amid the chaos….

I nearly forgot to take a pic today and so I grabbed my camera and tried to capture what was going on around me which was essentially chaos.  Not bad chaos but I have had a lot of great leads come my way the last several days so I was trying to organize all my notes, scraps of paper etc.  I set Ben, the traveling ninja down to take a pic and this is what I got…..

ben and the paperwork

I didn’t realize that my focus wasn’t on Ben but on my glasses case.  {{sigh}}

So I then took a pic of Ben looking at the blurry pic.  I am taking comfort that at least I remembered to take my pic of the day!

Stay awesome y’all! ~lisa

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 28 – Stained Glass

I don’t know the history behind this door…well not literally behind the door but I guess the history *of* the door but it’s the front door of the realty office that I work in.  I’ve been wanting to take pics of the door at various times throughout the day and this is the first one….

Basically I told you all that to let you know that there would more pics of this door that I’ll feature in my project….just saying. 😉

What kind of things do you like taking pics of?

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 27 – Walking through the Big D and I do mean Dallas…

Today I wrapped up my service as a juror for a Dallas County civil court case.  It was eye opening and interesting and now I can add “juror” to my list of things I have done.

The only downer to the experience is that it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL outside today with a high near 80!!  In January!!  In Texas!!….and I was stuck inside nearly the whole day.

downtown dallas

We were able to enjoy an extended lunch so several of us chose to walk to The Corner Bakery and I explained to the lady that this was my very first time there and she said, “Well that deserves a free drink and dessert!”  WHAT??!!  WooHoo!!!  So needless to say my lunchtime experience just got awesomer!!!

How was your day today?

Stay awesome y’all!! ~lisa

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 26 – You be the jury….or maybe me??

Today I had to go downtown for jury duty.

ben in the central jury room

In most instances you show up, wait in the Central Jury Room and then see if your juror number gets called.  If it does, you go to that floor and they take you in and ask a bunch of questions and then they decide who will be on the jury.  That was waaaay oversimplified but you get the idea.

I actually look forward to it and get a little excited as I really do love being a part of the process!!  In the past I’ve never been picked but today was different…woohoo!!!

ben with the jury info

Have you ever served on a jury?  🙂

Stay awesome y’all!!  ~lisa

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 25 – My name…or at least my initial…in the marquee lights.

This is what I am working on….

What is it??  Well it’s a paper mache letter H that I bought from Hobby Lobby on sale.  I am cutting off the front and then will paint it gold and then install lights inside.  It’s a future project that I am definitely going to share here on the blog so stay tuned.  It’s kind of one of those….”I sure hope this turns out as good as it looks in my head” projects.  😉

And yes, that is the map that I recently bought that I haven’t hung yet that you see on the left….another project in the making although I have decided what I am going to put on top now so at least I’ve made progress…haha!!

What things are you creating today?

Stay awesome y’all! ~lisa

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 24 – Homemade Egg McMuffin

Today my awesome hubby made some yummy homemade egg mcmuffins.  It’s healthier, we didn’t have to go out to get them and they were just as MORE delicious than McDonalds’.

ben and a homemade egg mcmuffin

As far as how “healthy” this is, that is all relative.  Here’s the scoop on our homemade version.

We used 100% Whole Wheat Thomas English Muffins; 1 large grade A Lucerne eggs, 1 slice of Jones sliced ham for a total of 215 calories.  You can break it down even further by carbs, proteins and fat but for now that’s what I’m tracking.

What did you have for breakfast today?

Stay awesome y’all!! ~lisa
