My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 144 – Happy Awesome Birthday to meeeeeee……

The month of May is special to me for a lot of reasons.  There are several family birthdays, Mother’s Day is in May as well as my wedding anniversary.  It’s also my birthday month and I celebrate ALL MONTH LONG!!!  😉

Why do I do that?  Well one reason I do is because I truly believe that life is precious.

If I ask you I know you can name family members, loved ones, or friends that will not be celebrating their next birthday because there are no longer here with us.  Not to sound too cliché but we don’t know what tomorrow holds so let’s celebrate while we can.

I love, love, love getting birthday wishes.  I try to respond to each and every one that I receive.  I figure if they took the time to acknowledge my special day I could take return the favor and thank them for it.  For each person I say a quick prayer asking God to bless them as they have blessed me.  So for all of you that wished me a Happy Awesome Birthday….know that you were prayed for today!!

My hubby made my cake this year and he tried to create a heart in the middle.  You can kind of see the outline of it.  Isn’t he sweet?

Many of you know about my traditional pink cake with pink frosting.  I’ve had a pink cake with pink frosting for my birthday since I was 5 years old.  That’s right….43 years of pink cake with pink frosting.  That has to mean something in this world…right?

Thanks again for all the birthday wishes and know that you were prayed over today!!!

Stay awesome y’all!! ~lisa

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 143 – Remembering on Memorial Day…

There is a difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day.

Memorial Day and Veterans Day honor the sacrifices of innumerable individuals who sacrificed themselves to preserve the freedoms all Americans enjoy, with Memorial Day remembering those who gave their lives, and Veterans Day honoring all who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

I hope that you were able to pause today and take a moment to remember those who have sacrificed so much for our country.

Today we visited the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery where my brother-in-law is buried.  It’s a really beautiful place.

Remembering those that gave their lives is important and even though today was not necessarily a day to thank a Service Member, we do think of them as well with a grateful heart.

Who did you remember today?

Stay awesome y’all!! ~lisa
