My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 131 – Lip service…..

I tried out the Failbait Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lipgloss today.

I have decided….

failbait on

I am not really a lipgloss kind of gal.

The color was very natural looking and although it didn’t seem to last very long it is a great neutral color.  I just don’t like how it feels “sticky”.

Are you a lipgloss kind of person?

Stay awesome y’all!! ~lisa

May ipsy Glam Bag

My May ipsy Glam Bag came today!

First out of my bag was the Caviar CC Cream 10-in-1 Complete Correction leave-in hair perfection by Alterna Haircare

I think we all want beautiful shiny hair so I’m excited to try this and see how it makes my hair feel.

citrus c facial cleanser

Naturals Detoxifying Citrus C Facial Cleanser by Peter Lamas is for all skin types.  It deep cleanses, detoxifies, has intensive antioxidant protection and maintains moisture.  I tend to have oily skin so we’ll see how this works for me.

Look at this cool gel eyeliner!

bellapierre eyeliner

This BelláPierre Cosmetics Waterproof Mineral Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Ebony is definitely top on my list of things to try.  In fact….I plan on trying it out tomorrow so we’ll see how it looks!

Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lipgloss came in two different shades and a Glide-On Lip Pencil..

The lip pencil is used to fill in fine lines and prevent feathering so I’m really interested to see if it works.  The color on the left is called Failbait and the color on the right is called Bittersweet. I like both colors but definitely want to try Failbait first.

The last product is a bronzer which I have never tried before and honestly, I’m not sure how to use.

Piixi by Petra Beauty Bronzer in the color Summertime is supposed to give my complexion the warmth and luminosity of naturally sun-kissed skin.   We shall see how well that works!

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 129 – I have plans….

Several years back a friend from the past had shared this verse with me…..Jeremiah 29:11.

We were discussing life passions, a topic I LOVE to discuss and she shared it at a time when things were going “well” for me.

As the years passed I would reflect on that verse from time to time and our conversation we had when she shared it.  I of course had no idea that this particular verse would become a great source of comfort for me during some more challenging times in my career and life.  But the steadfast truth remained….the Lord knew the plans that He had for me.

The Lord’s plans really didn’t follow the vision I had for my future but they were the best plans for me and I am truly thankful for where I am right now.  I encourage you to be a source of encouragement to others and don’t be afraid to share what is on your heart.  You never know what comfort those words will bring to someone….maybe not that particular day but in the future.

I still have the piece of paper that she wrote the verse down on.  A plain yellow sticky note.  Every time I look at it I say a prayer for my friend and am thankful for her boldness in sharing.

What will you do to encourage someone today?

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 128 – Happy Awesome Mothers Day!

Today is Mothers Day and I hope everyone took some time to reach out to your Moms and the mom figures in your life to say Happy Mothers Day!

We spent the afternoon at my mom and dad’s house and we had a really great time.

On my side of the family I have three awesome nieces….none of which really wanted to stay still while Aunt Sisa took pics 😉  That’s okay though as they enjoyed seeing each other and playing together.

Well take that back.  Harper posed for me.  😉

Here are some wood shells that my dad made.

Not only were we celebrating Mothers Day but my sister-in-laws bday!

I forgot….AGAIN….to take pics of our family.  I was complaining not too long ago about not having any recent pics of me with my siblings and then I forgot to take a pic.  Well I’m going to see them again in a couple of week so someone please remind me.

And of course there were flowers and I didn’t forget to take pics of them….

How was your weekend?

Stay awesome y’all!! ~lisa

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 128 – But first….let me take a selfie….

I had a super fun day today.

We first went to the Mesquite Marketplace to check out some local vendors.

Mesquite Marketplace

At the Mesquite Marketplace, shoppers can expect to find artisan foods, fresh produce, crafts and culinary items for purchase in Mesquite’s Historic Downtown Square.  The monthly shopping opportunity is located at 120 W. Main Street from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. every second Saturday of the month from April to October.

After we browsed around we were hungry so we headed to Whataburger.  We haven’t been there in FOREVER and so it sounded really good.

Let me just say that it was yummy for my tummy!

Then after we rested for a bit we headed out to some local election result watch parties to show support for some local candidates.

I was lucky to spend the evening with this handsome guy.

but first...let me take a selfie

And that was it!  It was a really awesome day!

What did you do today?

Stay awesome y’all!! ~lisa

Tuba talk…

This *thought* from Dove chocolates reminds me of the quote from Henry David Thoreau,

“If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer.  Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.”

I encourage all my friends to walk to your own beat….whether it’s a tuba or a drummer or a kazoo.  Walk with passion and conviction.

Stay awesome y’all!! ~lisa
