My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 178 – A calendar and some tape…

What do those two things have in common?  Virtually nothing except when the two meet interesting things can happen.

I have a slight obsession with planners and organizers and well…office supplies in general.  I have several friends that were buying the Erin Condren planners and while they are awesome there is a good portion of my life and my days that are scheduled out with appointments.  That planner didn’t offer an appointment option so I decided to stick with the free calendar that I was using.

Except it was plain.

And not cute.

So the idea of jazzing it up jumped in my head and the very next time I was at Hobby Lobby I decided to check out the various things I could use to spruce it up.  I found some black and silver tape so I decided to put horizontal stripes on my calendar as kind of a nod to my Kate Spade phone cover.

Before…and after!

I think it turned out pretty cute and although the tape is not permanent it is a great solution to the not so cute cover situation.

Next up is a fabric cover with pockets!  I’ll post a tutorial of sorts when I complete it.

My Review of Tony’s Meat-Trio Pizza

I received my free coupon from BzzAgent to try out Tony’s Meat-Trio Pizzeria Style Crust Pizza.

tonys pizza

I prefer “fresh” pizza but do enjoy a frozen pizza every now and then.  I find that frozen pizzas typically do not have enough meet or cheese on them so we always embellish them with additional pepperoni’s and cheese.  This pizza was no exception.  I believe I added about 5-8 pepperoni’s and sprinkled some additional cheese.  I didn’t go overboard with it though, as you can see.

We baked the pizza according to the directions but…

Our pizza turned out a bit “dark” around the edges.

Despite the darker edges the pizza was fine.  While it wasn’t the best pizza I’ve ever had, it was tasty.

It was not overly greasy and had a nice crust to it.

And it is a product I’d buy again…especially if it was on sale.  I like to have some quick and easy meal options for those days when cooking a full dinner is not possible.

And even Ben, the traveling ninja, had to check out the pizza because you know ninja turtles love pizza.

Have you tried Tony’s pizza lately?

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 168 – Recreate and repurpose….

I absolutely love to recreate something that I’ve seen in the store and if the project includes repurposing then even better!

I was in Hobby Lobby the other day and seriously saw this twine covered glass jar.  Now granted it was in the clearance section but was originally priced at $6.99.

I knew that I could do the same thing and for less!

I had a glass baby food jar and I covered it with twine.

I added a flower embellishment and it turned out great!

I also did a similar project for my sisters baby shower.  I was looking for some containers to put the nail stuff I had purchased (nail file, nail polish, polish remover etc.) and stumbled across 5 containers at the thrift store for 50 cents each!  Whoa!  And I already had the twine so it was a super inexpensive project.

I ❤ reusing stuff and repurposing. And recreating something I saw in Hobby Lobby just makes it all the more fun!

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 167 – Graduation…check!

Two of my triplets, Anna and Katherine, graduated from college today but only one was in town to walk and receive her diploma.  The other one, the youngest triplet Kat, is working at Hume Christian Camp in Hume, California over the summer so she was not able to attend.

Anna is the beautiful girl on the right and I don’t know who her friend is but I’m pretty sure she’s awesome too!

I’m so proud that all of my kids continue to work towards their goals and keep pressing forward even when it might seem easier to stop.

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 165 –

I attended the launch party for the new real estate site, and had a great time learning about the awesome website that will be available soon!

It has some really great features and is very user friendly!  The presentation was simulcast so I was able to see how that worked as well.

What fun things did you learn about today?
