My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 239 – Welcome to the world, Amelia Danielle

Forgive me but this pic was not taken by me but it is of my newest granddaughter, Amelia Danielle.

She is precious and perfect and that’s what I wanted to share with y’all today.

Stay awesome y’all! ~lisa

Smooshed pennies are my jam…

Do you collect anything when you travel?  I thought about collecting like those little mini spoons…do y’all remember when that was a thing?  Or was that just a grandma thing?

I thought about coffee mugs but those take up room and I’m not a big coffee drinker.  I know some people that collect snow globes which is cool.  I have some snowmen snowglobes  so I could easily start adding my travel ones and set them out at Christmas.

I collect smooshed pennies, iron-on patches and postcards.  I like them because they are small and easy to carry around.  They don’t take up a lot of space and are great reminders of where we’ve been.

I was heading to San Antonio recently and we stopped at Buc-ee’s and lo and behold I saw this inside.

WHAT??  Well y’all know I had to get one!

What are your favorite things to collect?

Stay awesome y’all!! ~lisa

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 238 – A short girl’s point of view

We went to a birthday party at the Gas Monkey.

This is what I wore…

And I even wore my super cute shoes which makes me a bit taller than my normal 5’.

But alas they weren’t enough because this was my point of view…

Can’t quite see through the grating but that’s okay because this made it all better…

It was a really fun night!  I hope your Saturday night was fun too!

Stay awesome!! ~lisa

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 236 – Meeting CMSAF Cody….and conspicuously snapping photos of other folks….

I have a nonprofit that supports those with a loved one in the Air Force (you can check it out here: AF WingMoms) and I found out that several folks that I wanted to meet would be at Lackland this week so I rearranged a few things and made some impromptu plans to go to San Antonio.

We did stop by Buc-ee’s which is this crazy big gas station/store where you can buy literally just about anything.  The prices weren’t outrageously high and it was fun to stop, stretch our legs and shop for a bit.

We made it to San Antonio!

After traveling you know that I am ready to find a good spot to eat.  As it turns out, there was a really great restaurant right next to the hotel and I had myself a big ole bowl of caldo de res!

Caldo de Res

We got up bright and early and took a pic in front of this sign.  I was so excited!

Here’s me trying to take a pic of General Welsh…..

And I’m totally trying to snap pics of them while they are talking.

The lady that was standing next to meet called Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Cody over and he agreed to take a pic with me!  I shared very briefly about the organization that I represent and I don’t remember much else….I was just too excited.  🙂

I also got a chance to briefly talk to Mrs. Welsh and Mrs. Cody.  It was great sharing about my group and talking about ways to help our Air Force families and spouses.  I didn’t get a pic with them but took advantage of them posing for another.

And…..I also was able to take a pic with Lieutenant General Roberson

Finally was able to get a pic of Secretary of the Air Force James as she was preparing to leave.

A very exciting day and I was so proud to share about my organization and the things we do to help Air Force families!

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 234 – Peep toe shoes…now you see them…now you don’t

I have somewhere to go this weekend and so I was looking to recreate an inspiration outfit that I saw online.  It is basically some jean capris (boyfriend style), booties, and a simple top.  I have the capris and was looking for some bootie style shoes when I found these….

These aren’t the pants I’ll be wearing but you can see how cute the shoes are.  Well, I decided to wait and think about it as I didn’t have my coupon with me and didn’t want to impulse buy.  Four hours later I go back to buy them and they are SOLD OUT!!!!

I couldn’t believe it.  I mean of all the luck.  So now it has become a slight obsession and I will have to spend part of tomorrow trying to find this shoe in stock in another store.  Because they are seriously that cute….right?

Stay awesome y’all! ~lisa

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 233 – A Cabi Coat

A Cabi Rep brought some clothes in for us today to preview and I just love looking at clothes!

Cabi Fall 2015

One particular piece caught my eye and I just had to try it on!

Zigzag coat

I know it doesn’t look like much hanging on the hanger but it was fitted and I just loved how it help give me a curvy look.  I really like it and tried it on a couple of times just to see how it felt.

On the Cabi website it says: Our Zigzag Jacket is a throwback to the ’60s in an eye-catching graphic print.  Done in the same ponte fabric and a similar silhouette of our much-loved Estate Jacket from Fall ’14, we’ve updated the Zigzag Jacket with seaming to define the waist and have added vintage-inspired buttons for an element of fun. The three-quarter sleeves and in-seam pockets make this a fashionable and wearable piece.

See how it goes in at the waist?  LOVE that!!

Now there were a couple of things that I was concerned about.  One was what the description said about the sleeves.  Loving the retro vibe, loving the print but three-quarter sleeves?  I guess my arms are REALLY short because the sleeves actually went to my wrist bone.  Hmmmmm….  And then I wondered was the print to trendy?  And my final concern was this….

Cabi Zigzag Jacket

Uh, yeah.  $169.  For a jacket.  That’s not even black and doesn’t really just go with everything.  BUT….the jacket is super cute, stretchy, comfortable and I liked it.  I shall wait for it to go on extreme clearance! 😉

Stay awesome y’all!! ~lisa
