My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 234 – Peep toe shoes…now you see them…now you don’t

I have somewhere to go this weekend and so I was looking to recreate an inspiration outfit that I saw online.  It is basically some jean capris (boyfriend style), booties, and a simple top.  I have the capris and was looking for some bootie style shoes when I found these….

These aren’t the pants I’ll be wearing but you can see how cute the shoes are.  Well, I decided to wait and think about it as I didn’t have my coupon with me and didn’t want to impulse buy.  Four hours later I go back to buy them and they are SOLD OUT!!!!

I couldn’t believe it.  I mean of all the luck.  So now it has become a slight obsession and I will have to spend part of tomorrow trying to find this shoe in stock in another store.  Because they are seriously that cute….right?

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 233 – A Cabi Coat

A Cabi Rep brought some clothes in for us today to preview and I just love looking at clothes!

Cabi Fall 2015

One particular piece caught my eye and I just had to try it on!

Zigzag coat

I know it doesn’t look like much hanging on the hanger but it was fitted and I just loved how it help give me a curvy look.  I really like it and tried it on a couple of times just to see how it felt.

On the Cabi website it says: Our Zigzag Jacket is a throwback to the ’60s in an eye-catching graphic print.  Done in the same ponte fabric and a similar silhouette of our much-loved Estate Jacket from Fall ’14, we’ve updated the Zigzag Jacket with seaming to define the waist and have added vintage-inspired buttons for an element of fun. The three-quarter sleeves and in-seam pockets make this a fashionable and wearable piece.

See how it goes in at the waist?  LOVE that!!

Now there were a couple of things that I was concerned about.  One was what the description said about the sleeves.  Loving the retro vibe, loving the print but three-quarter sleeves?  I guess my arms are REALLY short because the sleeves actually went to my wrist bone.  Hmmmmm….  And then I wondered was the print to trendy?  And my final concern was this….

Cabi Zigzag Jacket

Uh, yeah.  $169.  For a jacket.  That’s not even black and doesn’t really just go with everything.  BUT….the jacket is super cute, stretchy, comfortable and I liked it.  I shall wait for it to go on extreme clearance! 😉

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 232 – Italian Chicken….crock pot cooking on a Sunday

Today I used my crock pot to make a dish we call, Italian Chicken.  It’s a super easy recipe with just a couple of ingredients.  Literally two.

  • Chicken – I use boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Italian Dressing – I use about two bottles and I usually use the “zesty Italian”.

Yep, that’s it!  Two ingredients and a crock pot.  Seriously you can’t mess this up.

I put the chicken in the crock pot and cover with the Italian dressing.  I cook it for about 4-6 hours on low.

It smells so yummy while it’s cooking that I had to take out a bite to “test” it.

tender chicken

It’s practically falling apart it’s so tender!

Once it’s done I serve it over rice and voila!  Dinner is served!

Let me know if you try it out and if you like it!

My Beauty Blender Blotterazzi Review

I bought the new Beauty Blender Blotterazzi today at Sephora.

I’ve already tried it out and I like it.

End of review.

Just kidding….I had seen a review of this by Bunny, aka grav3yardgirl on youtube and knew I wanted to try it.  I have really oily skin and those oil blotting tissues are expensive!

blotterazzi and cleanser

The Blotterazzi comes with two pink reusable sponges, a sample of their cleansing solution and a cute little compact with a mirror to hold the sponge.

I used it today and noted that on the directions it says to: Place prominent bottom half of blotterazzi gently against larger areas of the face (ie T-zone, cheeks, or chin) to absorb shine and maintain a flawless finish on existing makeup.

Now just placing it gently wasn’t really doing anything.  I blotted a little harder and I also gently wiped and it really did seem to take away the oil.

I think you can buy oil blotting tissues for $4-$7 and depending on the brand you get will depend on how many sheets are in there but when I buy them I use them so sparingly that they do end up lasting me for forever.  But then I still have oily skin so what was the point of buying something and not using it?  I think I have a hang up about throwing it away versus the blotterazzi which is a reusable product.  And of course that could just be my random logic that I am using to justify the purchase?  haha!

Even my new little princess approves 🙂

My 365 Photo A Day Project – Day 231 – Minifigs, bricks and more….

I have an attachment to a TMNT minifig that I lovingly call Ben, The Traveling Ninja.  I take him everywhere I go and often take pics of him a la Legography style

As you can see Ben has a pretty good time wherever he goes.  Take a look at this next pic…

I didn’t have anywhere to set Ben down so I had to hold him to get the shot.  Now of course this can be easily cropped but I’d rather have something that “holds” him and is much easier to crop out without cutting off the bottom half of his body.

Yesterday my hubby asked me if I wanted to go to the Minifigs, Bricks, and More store today in Denton.  Bless his heart, it’s not really his “thing” but he indulges me and wanted to go with me so I could look for some minifigs and things that I have been wanting.

The store is located in Golden Triangle Mall and while it’s not super fancy they do have a lot of Lego pieces and individual mini figs for sale as well as complete sets.

Here are the parts that I bought to *hopefully* will help me get some better shots without my fingers taking up half the frame.

I also found this cutie and although she isn’t *quite* what I was looking for I’m sure she’ll come in handy for some great pics soon.  I actually want something that looks like Sophia the First but Lego doesn’t make one soooooo……

ben's new friend

I took the long clear thing and put the blue thing in one end.  I’m sure in “Lego-speak” there’s a more technical term for it but yeah….I don’t know what it is.

The idea is that I’ll put Ben on top of this thing so that I can take shots and not have my fingers in the way.

Here’s my first attempt at taking a shot and I am already loving it!  It’ll be much easier to crop out that small piece then crop away half of Ben because my fingers were in the way.

I know that I am not the only one that loves minifigs…..right?
