High 5 Friday – 09.18.15

So yeah….it’s been a while since I’ve done a recap of my google searches….but I’m back!

I am attending a fundraising event Saturday night and the theme is “Roaring 20’s”.  I’m really not into dressing like a flapper because that would mean that I would be possibly wearing a sleeveless dress and my arms are not one of my favorite features soooo…….I had to think of something else.

After a few searches I found out, according to Wikipedia, that in 1926, Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel published a picture of a short, simple black dress in American Vogue.  It was calf-length, straight and decorated only by a few diagonal lines. Vogue called it “Chanel’s Ford”. Like the Model T, the little black dress was simple and accessible for women of all social classes.  Vogue also said that the LBD would become “a sort of uniform for all women of taste”.  Click HERE to read the article.

So I am channeling Chanel and wearing a LBD, my cloche hat and some pearls.

If you know me, or if you just follow me on Instagram or Snap Chat or something, then you’ll know that I LOVE hot chocolate.  I’m currently on the hunt for a shirt that says, “Hot Chocolate Is My Jam” so if anyone sees one like that, please let me know.  I mean I can find tons of cute coffee related shirts but none specifically for hot chocolate.  I may need to design a line of shirts!

Until then….the search continues….

It’s fall and one of my favorite times of the year to decorate.  I know folks say that but have you really ranked your holidays that you decorate for?  I mean really, how many holidays do you decorate for?  I decorate for Easter, Fall which encompasses September and Halloween through Thanksgiving and then Christmas.  I don’t really decorate for any other holiday or season….but maybe I should?  I guess when I say it’s one of my favorites, and I really only decorate for three then you could just say that they are all my favorites?

Anyway, I have put out all my pumpkin and scarecrow stuff and was looking to create a little vignette at my cubicle at the realty office.  I was putting several pumpkins there but wanted a sort of “back drop” for it all and was looking for some fall prints that I could replicate.

I saw this in Kirklands and although it is not what I ended up making, it is pretty cute!

Chambray shirts are versatile and a wardrobe staple, but the one I have is not a “fitted” one and I feel like I look better in a fitted one so I started searching around for one and then I remembered Cabi had one that came out in their fall 2014 line.  There’s a Cabi outlet about an hour from me so I called them and {{ SQUEEEEE }} they are getting in the shirt next Friday!  Guess where I’ll be next week!

Are you a fan of the movie “Mean Girls”?  Because that’s where this quote comes from.  I just thought it was funny and literally laughed out loud when I saw it!  Click HERE if you want to see the clip!

I think I need this in my life….haha!!

It’s been an awesome week!  Let me know what you googled recently!

Stay awesome y’all!! ~lisa
