Weeding out the wardrobe

You know, as I am working through assessing my clothes, I am trying to weed out the ones that don’t fit, the ones I don’t like and those that are just too worn.  Here are a couple of example pieces that I came across.

This shirt is just not a favorite of mine.  I’ve worn it many times and each time I’ve not felt comfortable with the overall tightness and the cowl neckline.  When I purchased it, I liked the color and I thought the pattern was nice.  I’ve kept it because, well, it was still in good condition.  But every time I wore it, I didn’t like it.  Or as Marie Kondo would say, it didn’t bring me joy.

This outfit, on the other hand, brings all kinds of joy to me.

I love this knit blazer.  I love this graphic tee.  I love my jeans and I love my shoes.  This outfit makes me feel fun and that in turn puts a bounce in my step.  These pieces will definitely be staying in my closet.

That’s one of the things I am learning, and let’s face it, it is actually “re-learning”.  There’s no need to hang onto items that don’t make me feel good when I wear them, right?

Do you have any clothes that just aren’t doing it for you?  Are you still hanging onto them because…?  Do you have any clothes that you just feel really fantastic when you wear them?  Let me know!

Stay awesome y’all!! ~lisa
